HABC Weekday Preschool Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

Holland Avenue Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Weekday Preschool Director. This position is instrumental in leading our weekday preschool program, providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children while instilling biblical values and teachings.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive preschool program that aligns with the values of Holland Avenue Baptist Church in keeping with the Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000. 

  • Curriculum Development Create age-appropriate curriculum that integrates biblical teachings and values into daily activities and lessons.

  • Staff Management Recruit, train, and supervise preschool staff members, ensuring compliance with all church policies and state regulations.

  • Parent Communication Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress, and fostering a strong sense of community.

  • Budget Oversight Manage the preschool budget effectively, including appropriate fundraising endeavors, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to support the program's needs.

  • Safety and Security Implement and enforce safety protocols to promote the well-being of all children and staff members.

  • Community Outreach Develop relationships with local families and organizations to promote the preschool program and attract new participants.

  • Spiritual Development Facilitate opportunities for spiritual growth and development among preschoolers, incorporating prayer, Bible stories, and other biblical teachings into daily routines.

  • Professional Development Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and attend relevant training opportunities to enhance professional skills.

  • Administrative Duties Handle administrative tasks such as enrollment, scheduling, and record-keeping to ensure the efficient operation of the preschool program.

Qualifications

  • Christ-follower

  • Required: 5 years experience working in an Early Childhood Education setting, Child Development, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and/or at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role in an early childhood education setting.

  • Strong understanding of Southern Baptist beliefs and values (see doctrinal statement), with a commitment to integrating them into the preschool program.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and church leadership.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Must pass a background check. 

Schedule

  • 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the school year, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for special events or meetings. 

  • Limited hours in the summer
